Their five founders came together with the common goal of establishing an organization that would serve towards the advancement of Latinas while promoting higher learning and volunteerism. Today, the members of Gamma Alpha Omega strive to uphold the values of Honesty, Integrity, Leadership, Scholarship, and Unity.
The Gamma Chapter was established at the University of Washington on January 24th, 1997 out of the interest group of Hermanas Unidas. The organization was founded out of a common drive to increased Latina unity on campus and the need for a space that would allow women of color to grow and unite. |
